In 1973, Andre was born in Brooklyn New York to Alfred and Lenora Riddick. Andre is the youngest of three brothers.  He graduated from Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in 1991.  He ultimately acquired his Bachelor Degree in Psychology, graduating from the University of Kentucky in 1995.

After completing college, Andre went on to play professional basketball, which is his current occupation.  He has built a reputation as a winner whereas, he was a member of the championship teams in Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, and his current team in Belgium, winning consecutive championships in 2003 and 2004.

Andre was a member of the 1993 University of Kentucky “Final Four” Team.  He was selected to the all Southeastern Conference Tournament Team in the 1992-93 season.  He shares the record for most blocked shots in a game, and most blocks in a season.  He is fourth on the list of the University of Kentucky career leaders in block shots.

Andre has received many individual awards over the years.  He was selected as a McDonald’s All American in 1990.  Andre was named the “Best Defensive Player” in Japan in 1995.  In Belgium he was named “Most Valuable Player” of the 2003-04 season.  He was inducted into his high school “Hall of Fame” in 2003.  He was named Eurobasket “Most Valuable Player” of the 2003 Belgium finals.  Named “Second Team” All ULEB Cup (Union of European League of Basketball) in 2005.  

 Andre married his college sweetheart and Covington native, the former Tonya Smith in 1997.  Tonya graduated from University of Kentucky with a Masters Degree in Education.  Together they have two children Andre Jr., five years old, and Aubree, who is two years of age.
